Australia wrapped up a clean 3-0 sweep in the Women's T20I series, defeating the West Indies by 40 runs using the DLS method on Monday, March 23. Rain interrupted the West Indies' chase of 212, leaving them at 61/3 after 10 overs. With the downpour continuing in Kingstown for over an hour and a half, the match result was decided by the DLS method.

Georgia Voll stole the spotlight for Australia with her first T20I century, scoring 100 runs off just 52 balls. She joined the ranks of Meg Lanning (twice), Beth Mooney (twice), and Alyssa Healy as one of Australia Women's T20I centurions. Voll smashed nine fours and six sixes, reaching her century in the 17th over before being dismissed by Hayley Matthews just two balls later. Matthews also took out Georgia Wareham later in the over, finishing with impressive figures of 3-29 on a day when her teammates struggled to contain runs.

Up until that point, it was mostly a one-woman show from Voll, as none of the other top five batters managed to score more than 20. Their total of over 200 was partly thanks to captain Sophie Molineux, who hit 15 runs in the 19th over and followed it up with a six in the final over, helping Australia achieve their fifth-highest Women's T20I total ever.

Both of Molineux's sixes were hit in the cow corner area one off a full toss and the other from a free hit ensuring Australia finished strong after Voll's marathon innings, which marked the first century against the West Indies in Women's T20I history.

West Indies Struggle Early as Rain Halts Chase in T20I Against Australia

The West Indies' reply got off to a rocky start when Qiana Joseph was bowled out by Megan Schutt on just the second ball, attempting to play across the line.

Ebony Brathwaite and Matthews took their time during the Powerplay, but Brathwaite eventually launched a six off Schutt in the third over to get things moving. However, Lucy Hamilton soon deceived her with a slower ball, completing a caught-and-bowled that pushed the West Indies further into trouble. By the end of the six overs, they found themselves at a precarious 33/3.

Matthews and Deandra Dottin went through a quiet spell, but then each launched a six off Alana King, the Player of the Series, by charging down the pitch and sending the ball soaring over the midwicket boundary. That was the last glimpse of resistance from the West Indies; just an over later, the players were heading back as rain interrupted the game.
