In Match 42 of Indian Premier League 2026, Gujarat Titans handed a third loss of the season to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by easily chasing down the target of 156 at Narendra Modi Stadium. Batting second, the chasing side GT accomplished the target comfortably with 25 balls to spare. A controlled chase after a decent bowling performance during the day.

Having asked to bat first, RCB posted a score of 155 runs. Top contributions came from Devdutt Padikkal (24 balls 40 runs) and Virat Kohli (13 balls 28 runs) but the wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals and hence, RCB couldn't forge a big partnership. Rashid Khan bowled extremely well during the middle phase to pick two wickets and had complete control over the middle order while Arshad Khan accounted for 3 important wickets and Holder too scalped 2 wickets as RCB were bundled out on 19.2 overs.
In response, the top order for the Titans ensured there were no issues in the chase. Skipper Shubman Gill slammed a quickfire 43 balls in 18 deliveries while Jos Buttler made 39 off 19 deliveries to keep the charge going and although there were a few wickets lost in the middle, Tewatia and Rashid Khan made sure there was no hiccup in the run chase as Gujarat Titans comfortably achieved the target in 15.5 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the only outstanding bowler from RCB to pick up three wickets.
