Rajasthan Royals (RR) kept their composure to beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by six runs in a tense IPL 2026 clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT were chasing a massive target of 211 but were restricted at 204/8 after a spirited fight right until the last over. Sai Sudharsan provided the chase with impetus but Ravi Bishnoi's four-wicket haul turned the match on its head for RR. Earlier, Jaiswal and Jurel had provided the platform for RR to post 210/6.

GT Innings: Sudharsan plays a gem but middle-order falters

GT made a great start to the chase, with Sai Sudharsan playing a controlled yet aggressive innings to score 73 off 44 balls, a knock laced with nine boundaries and three sixes. He was well supported by Kumar Kushagra and at one point GT looked set to get to the target with relative ease.

Jos Buttler's quick cameo of 26 runs also kept the run rate ticking. But then in the middle of the chase, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a fantastic spell taking four important wickets, which included Sudharsan himself and wickets of Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia.

The middle-order of GT faltered between overs 7-15, having lost several wickets, which brought the run rate down significantly. A quick late surge by Rashid Khan (24) and Rabada (23*), who shared a 43 run partnership, was too little too late to win the match.

RR Innings: Jaiswal and Jurel build a strong platform

Being asked to bat first, RR managed to post a big score of 210/6 thanks to a good knock from Yashasvi Jaiswal (55 off 36 balls) who provided the start that the team required, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi chipped in with runs in the power play. The standout innings of the match though was Dhruv Jurel's brilliance of 75 runs in 42 balls, who controlled the middle overs perfectly and accelerated brilliantly towards the death. Shimron Hetmyer also made a quick 18 runs to add the finishing touches.

GT's bowlers managed to chip away with regular wickets, with Kagiso Rabada picking up two wickets, but RR's score was just enough.
