Gujarat Titans are set to face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match No. 56 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday, May 12.
So far, the Titans have played 11 matches and come out on top in seven of them. Under the leadership of Shubman Gill, GT currently sits in third place on the points table and enters this match riding high on a four-game winning streak. Their latest performance was a commanding 77-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals in an away game on Saturday, May 9.
On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad is holding down the second spot in the standings, just behind Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Led by Pat Cummins, SRH had a rocky start to the season, losing three out of their first four matches. However, they've turned things around spectacularly, winning six of their last seven games, and they'll be eager to keep that momentum going.
The Narendra Modi Stadium is known for being one of the most daunting venues in India, thanks to its sheer size and the electric atmosphere created by the crowd. In IPL 2026, the venue has generally favored teams batting second, although the pitch has managed to maintain a good balance between bat and ball.
It offers some help to pace bowlers with lateral movement and is also friendly to those who bowl with a hit-the-deck approach. When the dew sets in during the second innings, chasing becomes a lot easier, giving a significant edge to the team batting second.
