By winning the IPL 2022, the Gujarat Titans made their way into the mini-auction for IPL 2026 with a budget of ₹12.9 crores and planned to fill the open places in the team by bringing in new players after having a pretty good yet mixed season last year. Their first player for the day was the very promising fast bowler Ashok Sharma, who has been one of the leading artists in the event of domestic cricket.
In the 2025–26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Ashok not only led the wicket charts but also took the highest number of 20 wickets in nine matches, with his best being 4 for 16. He is known for his consistent bowling over 140 kmph. The young pacer charmed the scouts with his speed and also his control. His transition from being a net bowler for the Rajasthan Royals to being a player for the Gujarat Titans is a major milestone in his career.
Then, Gujarat obtained the West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder, who not only added a lot of experience to their team but also was a valuable pick. The Chennai Super Kings started the bidding, but after a short fight, GT finally got him for ₹7 crores.
