Hardik Pandya praises Hanuman Chalisa’s positive energy – “I play it in my Ferrari”

Hardik Pandya, the versatile all-rounder for India and captain of the Mumbai Indians, is known for his lavish lifestyle. He’s often seen in luxury sports cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis, flaunting high-end watches worth several crores, and an array of tattoos on his body.

Pandya is also no stranger to controversy, having made headlines for his bold comments on Karan Johar’s TV show a few years ago, as well as drawing backlash for engaging in public displays of affection with his girlfriend shortly after India’s T20 World Cup victory. A lawyer from Pune even filed a case against him for allegedly disrespecting the Indian flag during his celebrations in Ahmedabad.

However, Pandya has a surprising side that many are unaware of. In a recent viral video, he revealed that he listens to the Hanuman Chalisa while driving his expensive cars, which he says fills him with positive energy.

The Hanuman Chalisa serves as a spiritual source for the cricketer. He disclosed it while he was with Mumbai Indians’ batting coach Kieron Pollard at an event. It caught the audience off guard, and soon chants of “Jai Shri Ram” filled the air.

“It’s amazing to me that even after owning a Ferrari, I still choose to listen to the Hanuman Chalisa while driving. It feels special. I’m grateful for God’s kindness, and I truly believe everyone would agree that no song brings as much positivity and energy as the Hanuman Chalisa.”

Pandya will need plenty of that positive energy as the 2026 IPL season approaches. After taking over the Mumbai Indians captaincy from Rohit Sharma, following a successful run with Gujarat Titans, he is determined to lead MI to success. Pandya faced criticism from fans who blamed him for Sharma’s removal as captain. However, his reputation improved after leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The previous IPL season saw Mumbai Indians perform better, making it to the playoffs. With his recent successes in the 2026 T20 World Cup, Pandya now hopes to add an IPL title to his accolades. Given his determination and newfound source of strength, he could accomplish his goal.
