Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has won hearts on social media yet again but this time it's for his simplicity and affable demeanor during a train journey from Mumbai to Vadodara.
The former cricketer met a family traveling on the same train happily posed for pictures with them, and engaged in conversations with each family member making it a memorable journey for the family.
To make things even more memorable, the photograph was shared by Yusuf on his Instagram story and the family thanked the former India player for his kindness and simplicity.
One picture that grabbed the eyeballs online was when Yusuf posed individually with the child of the family and everyone lauded the former India star for remaining so humble and approachable despite his achievements as a cricketer and in public life.
The feel good moment quickly went viral on all the social media platforms and was hailed as another reason to love Yusuf Pathan.
The man who rose from Baroda to fame as an explosive batsman and a useful off-spin bowler caught the nation's attention after a spectacular performance in the Deodhar Trophy in 2007 which led to his inclusion in India's squad for the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 that year.
He made his international debut in the final against Pakistan and even opened the batting in that match, which India eventually won under MS Dhoni's leadership.
His explosive style of batting soon made him a valuable member of India's ODI side and also one of the biggest match-winners in the Indian Premier League.
In 57 ODIs he scored 810 runs while in 22 T20 Internationals he chipped in with 236 runs for the nation. He also enjoyed a stellar career in domestic cricket scoring over 4,000 runs in all formats.
The former KKR all-rounder scored 3,204 runs in 174 IPL games and took over 300 wickets in all formats combined.
Besides cricket Yusuf has also made a mark in public life and is currently a Member of Parliament from the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal representing the All India Trinamool Congress.
Yusuf is also well-known as the elder brother of former India pace all-rounder Irfan Pathan.
The brothers had launched their academy the Pathans Cricket Academy, post retirement to nurture budding cricketers which later tied up with former India coach Greg Chappell, Cameron Tradell as chief mentors, and Huzaifa Pathan joining as a coach.
Even after retirement Yusuf Pathan hasn't failed to stay in touch with his fans and this latest heartwarming train journey incident just goes on to prove that he is indeed one of their favourites for reasons beyond cricket too.
