ICC announces schedule for 2026 Women's T20 WC warm-up matches; when will India play their first warm-up match?

The International Cricket Council has announced the schedule for the warm-up matches for the upcoming 2026 Women's T20 World Cup. As per the given schedule, a total of 12 matches will be played from 6th June to 10th June. Derby, Loughborough, and Cardiff will be hosting the matches. Notably, the main tournament will be starting from June 12.

Eight teams will commence their preparations on the inaugural day of the warm-up fixtures, including reigning finalists New Zealand and South Africa, who headline the early contests ahead of the marquee tournament.

Debutants Netherlands are also set to enter the fray, facing Scotland in Derby as they gear up for their maiden appearance on the global stage.

When will India play their matches?

The preparatory schedule features several marquee encounters designed to intensify competition before the main event begins. Tournament hosts England are slated to square off against both Australia and India in Cardiff, while New Zealand and South Africa are scheduled for another high-profile meeting on June 9 in Loughborough. 

Notably India will play their one warm up match on June 8 against West Indies. It will be played at Cardiff.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Ireland and Scotland secured qualification through the Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier and will regard these games as indispensable in refining combinations and acclimatizing to conditions.

Anticipation surrounding the tournament has continued to escalate rapidly, with the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup already emerging as the highest-selling edition in the competition’s history. Ticket sales have crossed the 145,000 mark with a month still remaining before hosts England face Sri Lanka in Birmingham.
