India boycotted the presentation ceremony due to the presence of PCB and ACC head Mohsin Naqvi. Suryakumar Yadav and his players refused to accept the trophy and their individual awards at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull revealed India’s decision to stay away. “I have been informed by the Asian Cricket Council that India will not be collecting their Individual awards,” he said.

The ceremony was delayed for a long time as the officials urged the Men in Blue to change their stance, but the decision-makers refused. It was earlier reported that India would not take the trophy from Mohsin in case of their win in the championship match. Naqvi, who is also a Minister in the Pakistani government, has given controversial statements against India in the past.

Suryakumar Yadav’s team didn’t shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts in three matches, and several cricketers were seen making controversial gestures during the matches. India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the terror attack in Pahalgam, and the former’s reply in the form of Operation Sindoor.

Meanwhile, India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the summit clash, with Tilak Varma winning the Player of the Match for scoring an unbeaten 69. The Men in Green were bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs, while India completed the chase in 19.4 overs.
