Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya created a lot of talk among fans before the Indian Premier League 2026 season. He made the team jersey his main topic during a fan event in Mumbai which attracted all the audience's interest.

The Mumbai Indians have five IPL titles the joint most along with the Chennai Super Kings. But unlike many teams, they do not show stars on their jersey to mark these wins.

Pandya explained to the audience why the team's blue jersey lacks any stars during his presentation at the event. He gave a straightforward answer which he delivered with complete honesty.

"The maximum number of matches we wish to win. We are fortunate that we have 5 already, aur aage daalne fir jagah nahi bachega [won't have enought space to add more stars]," the all-rounder said.

RCB Fans Link Comment to RCB

Fans began their social media reactions shortly after this event. Many believed that Pandya's statement served as an insult directed toward Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

RCB recently added one star to their jersey after winning their first IPL title last season. Under the leadership of Rajat Patidar, they finally achieved victory after waiting for many years to obtain the trophy.

The fans connected Pandya's statement with RCB which became a major discussion topic.
