Lucknow Super Giants took down Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets in IPL 2026 on May 15 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. CSK set a target of 187/5 in their 20 overs, but their top order struggled to make significant contributions.

The middle order stepped up for CSK, with Kartik Sharma leading the charge with a fantastic 71 off 42 balls. His innings featured six fours and five sixes, boasting an impressive strike rate of 169.05.

He formed a crucial 70-run partnership off 44 balls for the fourth wicket alongside Dewald Brevis. After both were dismissed, Shivam Dube and Prashant Veer added the finishing touches, with Dube remaining not out on 32 runs from just 16 balls, helping CSK reach a competitive total. For LSG, Akash Maharaj Singh was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs in his four overs.

In response, the home team chased down the target with ease, finishing at 188/3 in just 16.4 overs. Mitchell Marsh delivered a stunning performance, scoring 90 off 38 balls, including nine fours and seven sixes, at a strike rate of 236.84. He also partnered with Josh Inglis for a commanding 135-run opening stand in just 70 balls, setting the perfect stage for the chase.

Nicholas Pooran wrapped up the match in style, finishing with an unbeaten 32 off 17 balls. The CSK bowlers struggled to rein in the aggressive batting, and this defeat dropped them to sixth place in the standings, while LSG remained at the bottom of the table with four wins from 12 matches.
