Virat Kohli entered the record books in the RCB vs GT match in the Indian Premier League 2026. He has been sensational for the defending champions so far and amassed 81 runs off 44 balls, laced with 8 fours and 4 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The right-handed batter became the first player in the history of the tournament to hit 800 fours, further cementing his legacy as the best willow holder in the league's history. 

Kohli, who was dropped on zero in the first over of the 206-run chase, was on 799 boundaries before the start of the RCB vs GT match. He reached the milestone by smashing Kagiso Rabada for a boundary to the long-on region.

In 274 IPL matches, Kohli has accumulated 8989 runs at an average of 39.95 and a strike rate of 133.76. He has hit 8 hundreds, 66 fifties, 807 fours and 303 sixes.

Shikhar Dhawan, who has retired from the IPL, is second, with 768 fours in 222 matches. He played for Delhi Capitals, Deccan Chargers, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, posting 6,769 runs.

Australian legend David Warner is third with 663 fours in 184 matches. He managed 6.565 runs at an average of 40.52.

Rohit Sharma, who has been a part of 276 games, scored 7,183 runs with 653 boundaries.

Ajinkya Rahane, who is leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026, has struck 522 fours from 205 matches.

Suresh Raina (506 fours), Gautam Gambhir (492 fours), Robin Uthappa (481 fours), KL Rahul (472 fours) and Suryakumar Yadav (471 fours) are also part of the elite club.
