Legendary bowler Wasim Akram was disappointed after Pakistan suffered their second consecutive defeat against India in the Asia Cup 2025. In the group stage match, the Men in Blue thumped the arch-rivals by 7 wickets, while in the Super Four Match, the Suryakumar Yadav-led team registered a 6-wicket win. In the latest outing, Pakistan posted 171/5 in 20 overs, but the total was not enough to test India, forget about beating them.
Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) dismantled the bowling unit of Pakistan. The target of 172 runs was achieved in 18.5 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
“It was tough to watch Pakistan, it is tough to watch Pakistan,” a dejected Wasim Akram said.
“India outplayed Pakistan in every department of the game. India is dominating Pakistan not in one or two years but for the last five years,” he added.
Akram heaped praise on India’s match-winners in the shortest format.
“India have incredible talent. Kuldeep (Yadav), Varun (Chakravarthy), and Abhishek (Sharma). You rarely see a talent like Abhishek. He is not a slogger but a genuine batter,” he concluded.
