Usman Khawaja Likely to Join

Usman Khawaja is a very experienced player who has been playing cricket at the highest level for many years. He is a cool character who will help the team in critical situations.

The team will benefit from his inclusion because he will utilize his leadership skills to assist young players.

Why Khawaja Can Be a Good Choice

Khawaja, now 39, has a strong record in T20 cricket. He has also led teams before, including Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League. He has also played in the PSL earlier for Islamabad United. During the 2020-21 season, he scored 246 runs in 7 matches.

His average was over 49, and he had a strike rate of 152.79, which shows he can score quickly when needed. Rawalpindi presents itself as a strong selection because of this reason.

PSL 2026 Set for New Season

The PSL 2026 season will feature a larger format because eight teams will compete in this edition. The league added two new teams Rawalpindi Pindiz and Hyderabad Kingsmen to its roster.

The tournament will run from March 26 to May 3 and will have 44 matches in 39 days.

The league has already lost multiple international players who decided to exit before the competition began, and this issue creates problems for both teams and their supporters.

Team Looks to Move Forward

The team will use this opportunity to create their development strategy. If Usman Khawaja joins the team and performs well, the absence of Fraser-McGurk may not hurt them much.

The team will announce their replacement before the upcoming season which marks their first year in the league.
