The Ekana Stadium saw the bowlers from both sides dominating the batters in a low-scoring thriller. While Riyan Parag leading the Rajasthan Royals deserves special applause for his captaincy, Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer need special mention for their marathon overs that didn't let LSG stand even in a chase of just 159 runs. Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals storm back to the second position with a 40-run win against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 22 in Lucknow.

The fielding has been top class from the side, especially with the safe hands Dhruv Jurel has had behind the stumps. Defending a total of 159, this team did not concede a single extra run and definitely no byes. Dhruv literally blocked every wide and bouncer coming from Archer and Nandre, and contributed to three caught behind, including a one-handed stunner that dismissed Mayank Yadav.

The match ended after Jofra Archer took the wicket of Mohsin Khan on the final ball of the 18th over. Archer storms a fuller delivery on the base of the middle stump. Mohsin missed the length and the stumps crashed.

Ravindra Jadeja's unbeaten 49 pushes RR to 149

On being asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals posted a competitive 159, losing six wickets in a go. The innings was built around a recovery after early setbacks, with the Royals slipping to 32/3 inside four overs. It was another match where RR's middle order was tested, and Ravindra Jadeja became the shield.

There have been minimal contribution from the middle, from Shimron Hetmyer (22) and Riyan (20. Ravindra Jadeja anchored the total with an unbeaten 43 off 29, while there was support from Donovan Ferreira (20). The situation was so desperate that RR had to bring in Shubham Dube as an impact sub, replacing Jaiswal. Dubey (19* off 11) ensured 49 runs came in the final five overs.

For LSG, Mohsin Khan took two wickets in his first appearance for LSG this season, but Mayank Yadav went wicketless. Prince Yadav and Mohammed Shami took two wickets each.

Royals bowlers dismantle LSG chase

In reply, LSG’s chase never gained momentum as they collapsed to 119 all out in 18 overs, managing just 6.61 runs per over. Mitchell Marsh fought a lone battle with 55 off 41 balls, accounting for nearly half the total. However, early wickets derailed the innings, with LSG reeling at 11/3 inside three overs. Nicholas Pooran (22) and Himmat Singh (15) provided brief resistance, but the lack of partnerships proved costly.

RR’s bowling unit delivered a disciplined performance led by Jofra Archer, who picked up 3/20, including the final wicket. Nandre Burger claimed two early strikes, while Brijesh Sharma also grabbed two wickets in the middle overs. With consistent breakthroughs, RR sealed a comprehensive win, handing LSG their fourth straight defeat.
