NO Rohit Sharma in Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy Squad

The Mumbai Cricket Association has announced Mumbai’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Rohit Sharma has not been included in the team. Recently, the BCCI had made it mandatory for all players to participate in domestic cricket. There were even reports suggesting that Rohit Sharma was keen to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but his name is missing from the squad.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, the names of Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also absent from the Mumbai squad. However, the Mumbai Cricket Association has maintained silence regarding Rohit Sharma’s availability.

Mumbai’s senior selection committee chairman, Sanjay Patil, stated that “when all these Indian players are available, they will be accommodated in the Mumbai team. If they are not available, it is not right to include their names in the squad, as it would deprive a young player of an opportunity”.
