Punjab Kings chased down a massive 210 against Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. PBKS started their innings with an intention of chasing the mammoth total and were mostly on top of the innings.

CSK scored 209 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs with the help of some good batting. Ayush Mhatre scored 73 runs in just 43 balls whereas Shivam Dube's aggressive knock of 45* runs in just 27 balls at the back-end propelled the Super Kings to a massive total. Sarfaraz Khan's quick 32-run cameo came in just 12 deliveries.

Punjab Kings did not get flustered by the huge target and started their innings with a bang scoring 68 runs in the powerplay and gaining some momentum which made the chase easier for them.

Priyansh Arya gave the PBKS a rollicking start to the innings with his 39-run innings coming in just 11 deliveries at a strike rate of 354.55.

Iyer steers the run chase home after a flying start

PBKS's inning continued to build on the strong start and was kept alive by Prabhsimran Singh's 43-run innings and Cooper Connolly's 36.

Shreyas Iyer kept his calm in the middle and scored 50 runs in just 29 balls and was well-supported by Nehal Wadhera's 10 runs coming in 8 deliveries. PBKS were at 186 for 3 with 24 runs to chase in 20 deliveries and it seemed as if the match will end in few balls. However, Kamboj and Henry picked up two wickets in two balls, raising some hopes for CSK.

Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh were the new men in and they made sure PBKS wins without any last minute hassle as they chased down the huge total with 8 balls to spare. This was the fourth highest chase by any team against Chennai Super Kings in the history of IPL.

The bowlers of CSK failed to make any significant inroads in the Punjab Kings' innings with Matt Henry and Anshul Kamboj picking up 2 wicket each.

The Chennai Super Kings on the other hand, got off to a brilliant start and scored 57 runs in the powerplay however they were not able to build on the momentum in the latter half of the inning and could not defend their massive total.

This victory will be a huge morale booster for the Punjab Kings and they will be high on confidence for the rest of the IPL 2026, whereas CSK will aim to regroup and improve their bowling in their upcoming games.
