Finally, the Indian Premier League 2025 concluded with the 74th and final match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The series brought together players from ten countries, all chasing the same goal: the IPL trophy. After several thrilling encounters and intense competition, only two teams remained to contest the final. The Royal Challengers sealed the victory by six wickets against Punjab Kings.
The historic win marked Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Having finished as runners-up in 2009, 2011, and 2016, this marked their fourth appearance in an IPL final.
Virat Kohli, who has been part of RCB since the inaugural 2008 season, was overwhelmed with joy and emotion.
On his Instagram account, he said, “This team made the dream possible, a season I’ll never forget. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride over the last 2.5 months. This one is for the fans of RCB who never left our side in the worst of times. This one is for all the years of heartbreak and disappointment. This moment is dedicated to every inch of effort left on the field playing for this team. As for the IPL trophy, you made me wait 18 years to lift you and celebrate, my friend, but it’s been worth the wait.”
Players like Phil Salt, who had just welcomed his first child, shared his joy on Instagram. He posted celebratory photos with the IPL trophy and a baby jersey with ‘Salt Jr’ written on it. He wrote, “48 hours that will live long in the memory.”
