Cricket Scotland made an exciting announcement on Tuesday, revealing a 15-member squad for their men's team's ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tour of Nepal. During this tour, they'll be facing off against the home team and the United States of America (USA).
Leading the squad once again is the experienced middle-order batter Richie Berrington. The lineup also includes uncapped spinner Ollie Jones, alongside the return of top-order batter Michael English. Earlier this year, Jones showcased his talent at the ICC Men's U19 World Cup, while English earned his spot back thanks to some impressive recent performances.
Left-arm seamer Bradley Currie is also rejoining the squad after missing the Namibia tour due to illness. Unfortunately, regulars like Chris McBride and Mackenzie Jones won't be available for this trip.
This upcoming tour to Nepal is particularly significant as it's Scotland's second visit since February 2023, when they clinched the trophy at the end of the last ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series.
Currently sitting in second place in the CWCL2 standings, just behind the USA, Scotland is gearing up to take on both the leaders and hosts Nepal, all in a bid to bolster their chances for qualification to next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup global qualifier.
