The second T20I between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain on January 9 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
The toss didn’t take place after the downpour kept the players and the umpires away from the field. Although the ground staff did a magnificent job covering the ground, there was no possibility of action after the rain didn’t stop.
The two umpires called off the contest at 8.37 pm IST. Pakistan will head into the final game with a chance of winning the series following their success in the series opener. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will look to bounce back to level the series and gain some momentum before the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Meanwhile, Pakistan had a perfect game, with the bowlers getting much-needed game time. They would hope better display from the batters in the upcoming clash. For Sri Lanka, they need improvement across departments.
