The iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is often known as an explosive venue mostly due to is shorter boundaries. And today, the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians rewrote an underrated history of the stadium.
A total of 32 maximums have been smashed by batters from both sides today. This happens to be the highest number of sixes ever smashed into the ground in an IPL match. Earlier, 29 sixes were scored in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 12th April match of this season.

In the record-breaking MI vs SRH clash, Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully chased down a massive target of 244 with 8 balls to spare, which happens to be the fourth highest successful chase of the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad pulled off a record-breaking chase to defeat Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets with 8 balls to spare in Match 41 at Wankhede. Chasing a daunting 244, SRH finished at 249/4 in 18.4 overs, scoring at a remarkable run rate of 13.33.
The chase was powered by Travis Head, who smashed 76 off 30 (SR 253.33), and Abhishek Sharma, who struck 45 off 24 as SRH raced to 92/0 in the powerplay. Despite a brief collapse from 129/0 to 133/3, Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with an unbeaten 65 off 30 (SR 216.66), earning Player of the Match. Salil Arora provided the finishing touch with a blistering 30* off 10 (SR 300).
Earlier, Mumbai posted 243/5, led by Ryan Rickelton’s unbeaten 123 off 55 (SR 223.63) and Will Jacks’s 46 off 22. However, their bowling attack failed to defend the total, conceding the highest successful chase at the venue.
