The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai will play host to five games for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 and has replaced the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as a venue for the marquee event, the ICC announced on Friday, August 22.

This comes after the Karnataka State Association failed to secure permission from the Karnataka State Government to host the games. The jury was out on Bangalore’s organizational ability in the aftermath of the tragic stampede that occurred during the celebration of RCB’s IPL title win. 11 people were killed and 56 others were injured while participating in the victory parade, which took place outside the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, the team’s home ground.
