Team India players couldn’t stop laughing at star spinner Kuldeep Yadav’s speech after he received the Impact Player medal following their dominant ODI series win over South Africa. A video shared by the BCCI’s official social media account showed the 30-year-old giving a slightly awkward speech, which had his teammates in splits.

Despite a series largely dominated by batters, Kuldeep emerged as the top wicket-taker, claiming nine wickets in three innings at an impressive average of 20.77. His most impactful performance came in the final ODI in Vizag, where he delivered figures of 10-1-41-4, including dismissing Dewald Brevis and Marco Jansen in the same over, helping bowl South Africa out for 270.

When assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate announced the Kanpur-born cricketer as the Impact Player Medal winner, the star spinner was invited to give a speech. He remarked:

“Nothing much from my side. Everything coach sir has already told. Congrats to Virat (Kohli) bhai and Jaisu (Yashasvi Jaiswal). Today, he played an unbelievable innings.”

“I’m Terrible At DRS”- Kuldeep Yadav Jokes About Struggling With DRS Against India Star

During the innings break of the 3rd ODI, Kuldeep Yadav talked about his DRS banter with Rohit Sharma, admitting that he isn’t very good at it and that Rohit often teases him about it. He stated, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo:

“In DRS, I’m someone who’s very bad. He keeps pulling my leg. Whenever I’m bowling, if I try to hit the pad and succeed in that, I feel every ball is wicket. When you have a former captain and KL too, especially in DRS calls, as a bowler you feel like every not out is out. You need seniors like that to guide you.”
