MS Dhoni is probably the most popular Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar. His fan following is huge across the country and if it weren’t for him, Chennai Super Kings wouldn’t be one of the best franchises in the Indian Premier League.

Although he is loved by so many, many people often joke how he used to steal credit from his teammates whenever the team achieved something. This joke led to one of the biggest memes in the cricket circle of Reddit.

The two biggest cricket subreddits, ‘r/cricket and r/cricketshitposting’, had a running gag involving the former Indian captain. They used to take any big achievement, somehow found a connection to Dhoni and then used to finish it off by typing “Credit goes Thala” or “Thala for a reason.”

The meme spread across to other social media sites like Instagram and Twitter, where it is now trending. Fans and brands keep sharing this meme, with almost all of them being received well. Many brands like Google, Amazon, Star Sports, Reliance Jio, and many more have joined in the trend.
