The Indian cricketer Tilak Varma was hosted by the Peddi set on Wednesday, March 18. The Peddi movie official Insta handle shared a video of Tilak Varma entering the set with the crew members greeting him. he was even seen having chats with a few, especially the lead actor, Ram Charan.

He was given a little tour of the set before he was presented with a special bat. Tilak was even shown some of the already taken shots. Well, Ram Charan himself presented the specially engraved bat to Tilak while the rest of the crew was heard chanting.

Tilak Varma felicitated by the Telangana government

Following India’s 2026 T20 World Cup triumph, Tilak Varma was earlier felicitated by the Telangana government on March 16 in Hyderabad. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led the ceremony, with dignitaries like Mohammad Azharuddin, Vakiti Srihari, and Shivsena Reddy in attendance. Born in Hyderabad, Varma also has roots in Andhra Pradesh through his mother, Namboori Gayatri Devi. Earlier, N. Chandrababu Naidu had praised him as a proud “Telugu boy.” The Hyderabad Cricket Association also rewarded him with ₹10 lakh for his achievements.

Tilak Varma's contributions in the 2026 Men's T20 WC

Tilak Varma emerged as a steady middle-order performer in India’s victorious 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign, scoring 207 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 154.47. Though initially criticised for a slower tempo at No.3, he adapted well after moving down the order in the knockouts.

His impactful cameos included 21 off 7 balls in the semi-final against England and an unbeaten 44 off 16 against Zimbabwe. In the final versus New Zealand, he chipped in with 8 runs as India posted 255/5. Varma also made an impact with the ball, dismissing Shadab Khan with his first delivery against Pakistan.
