Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won the game with two wickets left in the bank on the final ball. Krunal Pandya was the top scorer, amassing 73. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who picked up four wickets with the ball, struck the crucial six that earned his side the win.

Andy Flower also faced a penalty after the game

Former Zimbabwe batter and RCB coach Andy Flower was also fined 15% of his match fees. Flower was seen having an animated exchange with the fourth umpire during the chase. The 58-year-old was handed a fine for the use of obscene language and was charged under Article 2.3 as per the IPL code of conduct.

The incident occurred when Naman Dhir and Tilak Verma’s attempt to complete a relay catch went awry. There was massive confusion as it was not clear whether the fielder's feet had touched the boundary rope or not. After the checks were completed, it was deemed the save was legal. This angered Zimbabwean legend, who was seeing venting his ire at the 4th umpire.

Other disciplinary issues in IPL 2026

The incident with Tim David and Andy Flower isn’t the only time when the board came down hard on the players. Riyan Parag was penalized 25% of his match fee for vaping inside the dressing room during the PBKS vs RR game in Mullanpur. Nitish Rana had to lose a quarter of his match fees for his argument with the umpire during the game.

Rajasthan Royals team manager Romi Bhinder was spotted using a mobile phone in the dugout, which earned him an INR 1 Lakh penalty. The other players to be handed a financial penalty were the team captains, owing to slow over-rate issues.
