Vaibhav Suryavanshi faces criticism after U19 Asia Cup Final against Pakistan

It turned out to be a disappointing day for Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the U19 Asia Cup final, as he not only fell cheaply with the bat but also engaged in a heated exchange with Ali Raza during his dismissal. Supporters reacted strongly, expressing frustration over his attitude and composure at a crucial stage.

Having announced himself earlier in the tournament with some superb performances, Suryavanshi was expected to be one of India’s key men in the final against Pakistan. But the equation became tougher after Pakistan racked up 347, courtesy of Sameer Minhas’ stunning 172 of 113-ball. Despite the daunting chase, Suryavanshi looked confident early on, smashing three sixes and a boundary, but India suffered an early setback with the dismissal of captain Ayush Mhatre.

Suryavanshi survived an early scare when Ali Raza put down a chance, but the Pakistani pacer eventually got his man. Aaron George threatened to settle in, but his promising knock was cut short in the fourth over. With wickets falling, India desperately needed Suryavanshi to hold firm, rebuild the innings, and steady the chase.

He attempted a cross-batted shot, got a faint edge, and the keeper snapped it up comfortably.

Suryavanshi’s intent in the summit clash failed to impress many Indian fans, who questioned why the youngster went all-out from ball one. Supporters felt he needed to show better maturity in an ODI chase and read the match situation more intelligently.
