As India prepare for Tuesday’s ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars clash against Oman, all eyes have quietly shifted toward the youngest name in the tournament, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Several of Oman’s rising prospects, who have followed his rapid progress through junior levels, admit they are both amazed and curious about the power he produces at just 14. He is consistently sending the ball over the ropes and has already become one of the most discussed topics inside the Oman camp.

Suryavanshi reached Doha in red-hot form after two explosive knocks. He smashed 144 off 42 balls against the UAE, hitting 11 fours and 15 sixes at a stunning strike rate of 342.85, one of the fastest T20 hundreds ever by an Indian and among the quickest globally. He then added a brisk 45 off 28 balls against the Pakistan Shaheens.

For Oman’s youngsters, the task of bowling to him comes with a sense of excitement and real curiosity. “We’ve only watched Vaibhav Suryavanshi on television, and now we actually get to face him,” Aryan Bisht told TimesofIndia.com. a

“He is a rare talent. He is just 14 and look at his shots. He’s extremely gifted and very skilled, and I’m genuinely looking forward to playing against him,” he added.

Samay Shrivastava, who once played for Madhya Pradesh before relocating to Oman to pursue better cricket opportunities, expressed similar admiration. He views Tuesday’s fixture not only as a match but also as a valuable learning experience.

“It’s a fantastic chance to meet him. I’m curious to understand how he thinks about the game. He’s only 14, but he’s already performing brilliantly for himself and for India. The way he launches those huge sixes is remarkable. I’m really looking forward to meeting him and having a chat,” he said.
