With IPL 2026 approaching teams have started their marketing activities which create excitement for the upcoming event. The defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru present interactive social media materials which they created for their Indian T20 carnival supporters after winning their first title last season.
The franchise recently shared a nearly one-minute pre-season video featuring former captain and batting legend Virat Kohli. The fun clip shows Kohli stuck in an elevator with no other people while he entertains himself through shadow batting. RCB released this fake video which shows Kohli in an empty elevator while he still wears his team jersey to create a funny element for their advertising.
The 37-year-old prepares for his moment by checking his reflection in the mirror before he starts his stretching exercises and completes a short workout. He continues to practice shadow batting until he achieves his imaginary century but he fails to realize that the elevator CCTV camera has been recording his entire session.

Kohli will begin IPL 2026 as RCB defending champion for the first time in his career between his previous seasons and this upcoming season. RCB won their match against Punjab Kings through a thrilling final which took place at Narendra Modi Stadium under the leadership of captain Rajat Patidar.
Kohli contributed significantly to the final match because he scored 43 runs from 35 balls while the bowlers restricted Punjab Kings to a total that fell six runs short of their required runs. He scored 657 runs through 15 tournament innings which he achieved with a batting average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71.
Through IPL 2026 Kohli will start his first competitive cricket match after two months of inactivity. The 37-year-old last played in India’s ODI series against New Zealand national cricket team in January, where he scored 240 runs in three innings, including a century and a solid 93 in Indore and Vadodara.
He also scored over 300 runs in three ODI innings against South Africa national cricket team, hitting two centuries and a match-winning 65*. Kohli achieved eight scores that reached 50 or more in his last nine innings but he converted four of those scores into centuries.
According to the IPL 2026 schedule The Board of Control for Cricket in India released RCB will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first match which takes place on March 28 in Bengaluru.
