The clash between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals of IPL 2026 started off with a thrilling instance in Jaipur. Yashasvi Jaiswal opened his innings with some hard-hitting shots against the deliveries from Mitchell Starc.

Jaiswal launched the very first ball bowled at him into a long-distance six shot on the off side. He understood the nature of the ball to be a short one and hit it flawlessly with his body language showing that he was ready to take on Starc. The fast bowler responded to the situation with his first delivery. Starc delivered a full toss on middle to Jaiswal at the third ball of the over. Jaiswal attempted another powerful swing shot. The shot failed to connect with the intended target. The ball traveled upward after hitting the top section of the bat.
Starc maintained his composure while he caught the ball without any difficulty. The umpire needed to determine whether the ball reached above waist height but the delivery remained legal. Jaiswal had to walk back after scoring 6 runs from 3 balls.
The moment changed direction after the events occurred. Jaiswal started his inning with a six but he got out in the same over. Starc achieved his first wicket of the season during his first over of the match.

The Delhi Capitals received a powerful advantage in the match through this particular wicket. The bowling side benefits from dismissing Jaiswal because he is an attacking batsman. The score after one over showed Rajasthan Royals at 7 runs from 1 wicket. Jaiswal scored 6 runs off 3 balls with one six before getting out. Dhruv Jurel was at the crease with 1 run from 3 balls, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had just come in and was yet to score.
The bowlers did not give any extra runs during the first over of the match. Starc bowled one over, gave 7 runs, and picked up 1 wicket. His economy rate stood at 7.00. Kyle Jamieson had not bowled yet.
