Pakistan paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi made a humorous moment at a pre-Super Fours match press conference against Bangladesh in Dubai. The left-arm bowler went blank when a journalist referred to Bangladesh's cricket sobriquet, the "Tigers."
When questioned about Pakistan maintaining the same XI against the "Tigers," Afridi seemed confused and said, "Tiger kaun?" (Who's Tiger?). Someone explained that the nickname is for Bangladesh, to which Shaheen smiled and answered, "Ohh, Bangladesh, sorry." He then jokingly said, "Mai head coach se puch lunga, sorry mujhe nahi pata.” (I’ll ask the head coach, sorry I don’t know).

Although in a comical moment, Afridi did admit Bangladesh's increased shape. In T20Is, Pakistan has historically dominated, winning 20 out of 25 matches against Bangladesh, who have achieved just five victories. Yet, Bangladesh recently achieved a 2-1 series victory in home tests against Pakistan in July, proving that they cannot be taken lightly.
Afridi stressed that Pakistan have to be on their toes in order to defeat Bangladesh. He stated:
"Bangladesh is a good team and has been playing quite well recently. Obviously, whenever we play matches against such teams, we need to deliver the first punch ourselves and not give them any opportunity."
He said:
"Yes, we need to play good cricket at all three phases, and then there's the next match. Our attention is on the Bangladesh game and how to go about it."
The last Super Fours encounter for both teams is booked at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Thursday. Pakistan will look to continue its run and emerge victorious in this game and face the arch-nemesis pon Sunday, while Bangladesh will play with their full potential and attempt to upset the Men in Green as a win in this match would see them in the finals against India.
