After losing their respective T20I series to Sri Lanka and India Women, the hosts, West Indies Women and Australia Women, will now be clashing against each other in a three-match T20I series. The first T20I match of the tour is scheduled to be played at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent, on Friday, March 20. Both teams will look to start the series on a positive note.

West Indies Women

The West Indies Women's team suffered a tragic T20I series defeat against Sri Lanka in their last series. After the first match was abandoned due to rain, the hosts disappointingly lost the next two matches and were whitewashed at their own home. However, the Hayley Matthews-led side will be entering this series to turn the tables; they will be eyeing solid preparations for the upcoming Women's T20I World Cup as well. The squad is pretty much similar to what they had opted for the Sri Lanka series, but they will be determined enough to pull some miracle this time around. The West Indies Women's team had defeated Australia Women in this format two years ago; since then, they have been winless against this side.

Australia Women

Meanwhile, Australia Women suffered a shocking defeat in the T20I series against India for the first time in 8 years at their own home turf. After going down in the series opener against India Women, they won the second match to keep themselves alive, but that didn't last long, as they fell in the third T20I match by 17 runs to only lose the series 1-2 to India. Sophie Molineux had missed out on the last series, but she is available this time and is likely to feature as a pure batter against the West Indies. The top-order has been in impeccable form as usual, but the bowling needs some sharpness this time from the visitors. Annabel Sutherland will miss out on the T20I series, and the squad has been similar to what they played in the last series.

Both teams will be arriving in this match after losing their respective series; both will be eyeing to get a good start.
