Why is Mohsin Khan not playing in the LSG vs RCB IPL 2026 match?

Lucknow Super Giants suffered a major setback as their in-form fast bowler Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of their IPL 2026 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Mohsin has been impacted by injuries over the years, leading to less game time in the cash-rich league. Despite his fitness issues, the team management and the owner of LSG have backed him, considering his talent. 

He is the only bowler in the 19th season of the tournament to take a five-wicket haul. The 27-year-old dismantled the Delhi Capitals' batting line-up, and overall, he has claimed 10 wickets in five games.

Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant revealed that Mohsin has a niggle and is not fit to compete against the defending champions. The struggling franchise made three changes to their playing XI, with Arshin Kulkarni coming in for injured Josh Inglis. Mayank Yadav might replace Mohsin, while Shahbaz Ahmed has joined the starting XI in place of M Siddharth.

Meanwhile, RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. He wants to take advantage of the black soil pitch as chasing becomes easy at this venue.

On the other hand, Pant is already thinking about the next season, knowing Lucknow are out of the playoff race after failing miserably across departments. 

Bengaluru are still in contention for the next round and need a few wins to confirm their place.
