Yuvraj Singh has apologized to legendary India captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev, who were targeted by his father, Yograj Singh. Yuvraj is one of the best players to play for the Indian National Cricket Team. He played a key role in India's win in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup. He was rated among the best cricketers in white-ball cricket, and his all-round display was instrumental in the rise of the Men in Blue.
Yuvraj was named the Player of the Tournament when India clinched the fifty-over World Cup trophy at home.
After Yuvraj announced his retirement from cricket, Yograj blamed Dhoni for his son not getting the captaincy. Yograj didn't spare Kapil Dev and accused him of ending his career. Now, Yuvraj has said sorry to two greats of the game. "I would like to apologise to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni," he told Sports Tak.
Yuvraj was asked about how he feels when he listens to the interviews of his father. "I told dad, it is not ok," he added.
Yograj has become a coach and is known for his controversial statements about former players.
"When Kapil Dev got the captaincy of India, North Zone and Haryana, he dropped me without any valid reason," Yograj had said.
"My wife wanted to confront Kapil. We went to Kapil's house with a pistol as I wanted to teach him a lesson. He came out with his mother, and I abused him. I didn't kill him because his mother was present with him. I told my wife Shabman to leave," he added.
"I decided not to play cricket from that moment onwards and made my son Yuvi a cricketer."
He once opened on Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. "I can talk about the people I have been with. They treated people badly. If something is wrong, I will highlight it. Our captain destroyed our cricketers and the team."
