The 2025 Hungarian Darts Trophy was held in Budapest last weekend. The final victory went somewhat surprisingly to Niko Springer, who was too strong for Danny Noppert in the final 8-7.
Since the beginning of last year, 25 European Tour tournaments have already been played, including 13 last year and 12 this year. Springer's win was already the fourth for a German. Martin Schindler won the other three Euro Tours. This puts Germany somewhat surprisingly in second place.
Unchallenged leader is England with thirteen titles on the European Tour since the beginning of last year. Luke Littler leads the English with four titles, followed by Luke Humphries with three. Nathan Aspinall provided two English final victories, as did Dave Chisnall. Furthermore, Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting won one Euro Tour each.
Behind Germany, Scotland follows in third place with three titles on the European Tour. Gary Anderson won one title both last year and this year and Peter Wright triumphed at last year's German Darts Championship.
In joint fourth place we find the Netherlands. Both titles came from Michael van Gerwen. 'Mighty Mike' triumphed last year at the Hungarian Darts Trophy, this year he was then successful again at the German Darts Grand Prix.
Like the Netherlands, there have also been two Welsh tournament victories on the European Tour since the beginning of last year. Not surprisingly, these were won by Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price. Clayton won the Dutch Darts Championship at the end of May this year, while Price was the best at the Baltic Sea Darts Open in mid-July.
Finally, there was also one Northern Irish win. Josh Rock took care of that by winning last year's Dutch Darts Championship.
Two more tournaments of the European Tour 2025 are coming up in the next few weeks. Following that, the European Championship will be held in Dortmund from October 23 to 26.
There have been 25 tournaments on the European Tour since the start of 2024 and only English players have won more of than Germans.
