It is raining nine-dart finishes in Leicester, as Dirk van Duijvenbode is already the fourth player to manage to finish a leg in nine darts at the two-part Players Championship tournament in Leicester. On Tuesday, Josh Rock, Leon Weber and Stephen Bunting had already thrown a nine-darter at Players Championship 20.
On Wednesday, Van Duijvenbode threw a perfect leg in the first round of Players Championship 21. However, the match against Jim Williams did not start well for the Dutchman, as 'Aubergenius' was facing a 4-1 deficit after five legs. He then narrowed the deficit to 4-3.
Van Duijvenbode then started the eighth leg with two 180 scores, before completing the ninth darter with a 141 finish. Then Van Duijvenbode also completed his comeback, as he also took the ninth and tenth leg to win the match 6-4.
