Drastic change for World Seniors Champion of Champions with third edition in late June

On Sunday, June 29, Portsmouth will host the third edition of the prestigious senior tournament Champion of Champions. This year the tournament moves to the intimate setting of the MODUS Live Lounge, a small but atmospheric venue on the south coast of England, where limited spectators are welcome. It is the venue where weekly MODUS Super Series competition also takes place.

Defending champion Richie Howson is at the Champion of Champions tournament again. The Englishman won the tournament last year with a convincing victory over Andy Hamilton in the final. Ross Montgomery will also take the stage. The Scot, winner of the World Seniors Championship early this year, is aiming for another top prize in Portsmouth.

In addition, other big names from the senior circuit are also making an appearance. John Henderson, who won both the World Seniors Matchplay and the World Masters, will be there. As will his compatriot Robert Thornton, a two-time World Seniors Champion.

In addition, Steve Beaton will make his debut at this senior tournament, as will Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King. Also veterans Martin Adams, three-time world champion on the iconic Lakeside stage, and Neil Duff, former WDF world champion, have confirmed their participation. This brings the field of participants to nine players for now.

Two additional spots will be distributed through qualifying events scheduled for June 21 and 22 in Newbury. Finally, one more player will be invited by the organization to complete the field of participants.
