'For the first time in a long time, I believe I’m one of the best players in the world' - Nathan Aspinall heads to Poland with confidence

Fresh off a superb showing in New York, Nathan Aspinall is once again in the spotlight as he heads to Gliwice for this weekend’s Poland Darts Masters. The in-form Englishman will open his campaign against Poland’s Radek Szaganski, World Cup partner of Krzysztof Ratajski.

Aspinall impressed at the iconic Madison Square Garden last weekend, storming to the final of the US Darts Masters. Along the way, he dispatched teenage sensation Luke Littler for the second tournament in a row — a statement win that underlined his growing momentum on the world stage.

“I had a fantastic weekend in New York,” Aspinall told the PDC ahead of the latest World Series of Darts event in 2025 getting underway on Friday night. “It was probably one of the best tournaments I’ve played in a long time."

His resurgence is no fluke. The former World Matchplay and UK Open champion has been on a determined road back to form, overcoming setbacks such as injury and dartitis, and putting in years of hard graft. “It has been a tough road back to feeling like myself again,” said the Stockport thrower. “It’s been three years of hard graft, but I have never felt this confident.”

This period marks something of a renaissance for Aspinall. Not only has he rediscovered the form that once made him one of the sport’s most feared competitors, but he’s now competing with a renewed sense of purpose and belief. “For the first time in a very long time, I really believe I’m one of the best players in the world,” he added in conclusion.

With his confidence soaring and results beginning to reflect his efforts, all eyes will be on Aspinall in Gliwice as he looks to build on his momentum — and perhaps add another major title to his growing résumé.
