After the drama and excitement of the 2025 World Cup of Darts last weekend, the PDC Pro Tour returns to Players Championship action this afternoon, with PC17 taking place in Leicester.
Already, some big names had announced their withdrawal from the event in the initial player list. Among those absent were the three leaders on the PDC Order of Merit - Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen - plus the likes of Rob Cross, Michele Turetta, Jules van Dongen, and Tim Wolters.
With the draw now having been made however, three further names have been noted by their absence from the field.
Chiefly among the added absentees is Gerwyn Price. The Welshman was brilliant last weekend, helping Wales go all the way to the World Cup of Darts final before losing out in a last leg thriller to Northern Ireland.
Nathan Aspinall is also among the trio of last minute cancellations, with Patrick Geeraets completing the three names.
In replacement of Price, Aspinall and Geeraets, the PDC have called up the trio of Graham Hall, Scott Campbell and Adam Mould as replacements.
