Glorious Gerwyn Price wins first European Tour title since 2023, defeats Gary Anderson to seal Baltic Sea Darts Open

Gerwyn Price has not sealed a European Tour title since 2023 until tonight when 'The Iceman' completed an emphatic run to the title at the Baltic Sea Darts Open in Kiel.

Price has been showing some incredible form at times in the past few months. That includes on the ProTour even this past week when only a superb Bradley Brooks run could stop him.

But he had a stoic man on a mission look about him this weekend as if he had a point to prove going into the World Matchplay. Wins over Luke Humphries 6-3 and Chris Dobey 7-3 saw the Welshman barely give his opponents a chance.

A meeting with Gary Anderson who has already won a European Tour title this year followed in the infamous game at the Grand Slam that saw him become a darting villain. Tempers have cooled since then and they have played many times since. But it was Price who stormed through. Next stop Blackpool.

To start the tie, Price couldn't hold throw with three clear at double 20 but got over the line eventually to make it 1-0. Price missed a dart to break. Anderson returned but he miscounted off 74.

This allowed Price to return but he missed three darts and Anderson got away with it pinning double one for 1-1. Price missed double 19 for 155 and Anderson broke for 2-1.

But Price broke straight back for 2-2. 'The Iceman' missed three darts at double 20 but he returned to hold for 3-2.

Price missed 72 to break but returned to hit double 10 to make it 4-2. He returned to hold to make it 5-2. Anderson missed three at double 20 and Price returned for double 10 to make it 6-2.

Price missed darts to hold and Anderson had a chance to break but he spurned it and 'The Iceman' had to hit double one. He didn't with three going awry but Anderson couldn't take his opportunity and Price made it 7-2.

Anderson hit two bulls off 125 as he hit one last roll of the dice. Price missed 126 on the bull for the win but he returned to hit double 12 to seal the title.
