James Wade hit the headlines twice this week firstly for 'Fartgate' which saw him go viral for farting in the vicinity of Peter Wright who was taken aback by it and the match was stopped. But he then won a title and Luke Humphries couldn't not take the opportunity to rib him.
Humphries hit back this morning at criticism by Dennis Priestley who said that the World No.1 and his England partner Luke Littler let the country down and didn't deserve their MBE's.
'Cool Hand Luke' was recognised alongside Littler for their contributions to sport as darts has reached new heights in the past two years since they have both ascended to the top of the sport.
But after losing to Germany in Frankfurt, Priestley criticised them and Littler hit back saying that he's done more in the past year than 'The Menace' did in his whole career. Humphries took a more disappointed tamer tact but intermixed with that, he also ribbed Wade.
Wade shared a congratulatory message after winning Players Championship 19 where he was in devastatingly good form seeing off Scott Williams in the final. The usual exhibition of finishing prowess from 'The Machine' saw him also ascend back up to World No.8. He also sits World No.5 in the World Championship race so for a player who by his own admission has been unwell, he is achieving his mission.
Even through the funny headlines about farting which Humphires replied with. "Good Morning everyone. Wow!! I'm over the moon you can't believe. I played well in all games this week and last night was the high I've been aiming for!! Celebrations all round" wrote Wade on Twitter.
"As always, thank you to all my supporters and the kind comments. Thank you to my sponsors and management team!"
"Great farts mate!! I mean ‘Darts" wrote Humphries hilariously in response on Twitter.
