Adrian Lewis has yet to commit to a return to darts in 2026 as the two-time World Champion is still contemplating a potential route to Q-School.
Lewis has been competing at exhibitions across the UK and eventually planning to play the MODUS Super Series after signing with the management company. But while that is the case, he wants to come back all guns blazing instead of it being half baked.
'Jackpot' previously stepped away due to the stress of the game and also because of his wife Sarah who as he mentioned in the podcast Tops and Tales with Huw Ware has an incurable kidney disease. His daughter also has autism and ADHD so he needs to understandably weigh up every facet of his life before coming back.
“Sarah’s got an incurable kidney disease, so we obviously spent a lot of time in an upper hospital," said Lewis on Tops and Tales Podcast.
“My daughter, she’s got autism and ADHD, so she’s got them both combined. So, she’s on disability.
“So, and all that like, like I said, she’s at our level, our level needs. But yeah, she’s still a diamond like, you know.”
He said that he needs to be ready in all parts of his life and not get his Tour Card back and want to quit again within a few months. He said that he will keep on going in attempting to return but more on his own terms than committing fully as of yet.
“I mean, we’ll see where January takes us in regards to going back to professional darts. You know, obviously, I’ll never write it off and say I’m, you know, I never go back to the PDC because that would be my aim again.
“But I wouldn’t turn up there, say I won my Tour Card back and then after six months, say no, I wasn’t ready for it.
“I want to make sure I’m 100% ready, mentally right and just go at it all guns blazing. I feel, I mean, I haven’t really said anything to anybody else really. I feel as if like it’s a crossroads. Do you know what I mean?
“I’m like, do you want to go back? Do you want to do it? What do I do? You know, what’s my next step? Well, I’m sure, you know, I’ll just keep grinding, and then we’ll just see what it takes, really.”
