Jimmy van Schie has won a weekly title in the MODUS Super Series for the fourth time in his career. He proved the best on Saturday night's final night and pocketed the £5,000 bonus. With this win, Van Schie qualifies for Champions Week, where he may compete for the overall victory and a grand prize of £25,000 later this season.

The final day began with the group stage, in which the six remaining players were divided into two groups. Van Schie had initially narrowly qualified for the final night by finishing third in Group B after playing eight matches on Thursday and Friday. He then had to beat Beau Greaves and Jamie Durrant.

So on the final night he faced Greaves again. The Dutchman lost 4-3 to the best female dart player in the world, but because he won 4-2 against Jarred Cole and Cole triumphed 4-1 against Greaves, Van Schie advanced to the semifinals as group winner. Cole finished second, while Greaves was eliminated based on the worst leg difference. She previously was unbeaten in these events.

In the other group, Reece Robinson became group winner. Robinson, who became the first finalist earlier in the week by winning Group A, defeated both Conan Whitehead (4-0) and Jamie Durrant (4-2). Whitehead won the underdog match with Durrant (4-2), and moved on as number two.

Robinson then qualified first for the final match by beating Cole 4-2, after which Van Schie settled with Whitehead (4-2). In the final between Robinson and Van Schie, the Dutchman proved to be the sharpest of the two. Thanks to an average of 91.80 and a finishing percentage of 50 percent, it became 4-1 for Van Schie.

What is the MODUS Super Series?

The MODUS Super Series is a weekly tournament with 12 players competing from Monday through Friday for a spot in the final group, which takes place on Saturday night. A week of play begins with six players competing in Group A. They play against each other once each on the first three days of play. The winner of this pool is directly through to finals night.

The numbers two and three will enter Group B with three new players. They will play each other on Thursday and Friday, after which the top three of this group may also prepare to participate in the final night. The numbers four, five and six from Group A advance to Group C, where they too will be joined by three other players. Two more players from this pool will advance to the final night.

The final night is played on Saturday night starting at 10 p.m. where players compete in a small group stage with two groups of three players, followed by semi-finals and a final to determine the weekly winner. After twelve weeks of competition, all the weekly winners compete in "Champions Week," which is played every thirteen weeks of play to determine who wins the series and takes home the top prize of 25,000 pounds.
