Joe Comito seals PDC World Darts Championship return; ANZ Premier League continues to take shape

The DPA Pro Tour 2025 has concluded and the big winner listens to the name Joe Comito. Thanks to his final victory in the Australian rankings, The Waterboy will prepare for a return at the prestigious PDC World Championship at the Alexandra Palace next December.

Although Comito already started the final weekend with a solid lead, he still needed a few points to secure his place in London for good. He succeeded with conviction: on Saturday he immediately won the 16th ranking tournament of the season, his fourth title this year. This assured his World Cup ticket. Moreover, his participation in the first edition of the ANZ Premier League, which starts in October, was already fixed. For the remaining places in that league, however, there was still plenty of excitement about the closing tournaments.

The man of the weekend was undoubtedly Brody Klinge. The young Australian started as number three in the rankings, but thanks to two tournament wins he moved up another position. Klinge had already stepped into the spotlight earlier this year at the World Series of Darts at home, and this weekend confirmed his status as one of the biggest talents Down Under. He will be an interesting name to follow in the ANZ Premier League.

James Bailey also secured a spot in that new competition. The Bull reached the semi-finals in both tournaments, enough to maintain his third position in the rankings. With that, the field of participants for the very first ANZ Premier League is now half complete, as Simon Whitlock had previously received a wildcard. The final four starting spots will be distributed in the coming weeks, before the ANZ Premier League kicks off in October. For the winner of that event, a World Championship spot also awaits.
