One of the sport’s most colourful characters, it's fair to say that over the course of his PDC career, Scott Williams has been no stranger to controversy or a DRA fine or two.

On a recent Target Darts charity livestream, the former PDC World Darts Championship semifinalist was asked about his run ins with the DRA over the years. On how many fines he's had, Williams answered: "That's a great question. That would be three!"

His biggest fine though, came on the European Tour earlier this year, when he gave the Munich crowd a middle finger salute in the middle of his match against Josh Rock at the German Darts Grand Prix.

While warming up on stage, Williams found himself on the receiving end of persistent heckling from one particularly vocal fan. After initially acknowledging the shout, he quickly shut it down—and moments later responded by throwing his practice darts before flipping off the spectator in full view of the cameras.

As is often the case with Williams, the moment split opinion. Some fans called it pure box office, while others argued it crossed the line and had no place in the sport.

As it turned out, the DRA were not impressed. "That cost a whole bag of sand (£1,000)," Williams recalls on the livestream. Still, 'Shaggy' is sticking to his guns. "Just because the German crowd were all arseholes."
