The opening day of action is complete at the Poland Darts Masters and we have our Quarter-Final line-up with only Jonny Clayton out of the PDC eight finding their way out of the tournament at the first round stage.
Clayton was dumped out on Friday night albeit against a very familiar name and given his recent form the one player none of the eight wanted to do - Krzysztof Ratajski.
Ratajski averaged over 100 and in a match full of breaks of throw, he found a way at the very end sealing it 6-3. Given his display on Friday, he will fancy his chances against Stephen Bunting tomorrow who didn't need to perform that well but he saw off Tytus Kanik 6-3 with just over an 87 average.
The winner of that tie will face the victor of the next section and Nathan Aspinall was in supreme form albeit he needed to work to do it after taking a superb early lead.
Aspinall stormed into a 5-1 lead against former ProTour winner Radek Szaganski but in the end, Aspinall was broken as the bus driver who lives in Cork, Ireland went 5-3 down and was throwing to go one behind.
He made it 5-4 but eventually Aspinall escaped over the line to seal a 6-4 win. Elsewhere, Gerwyn Price also had some issues towards the end in facing Sebastian Bialecki missing hatfuls of match darts for the victory over the Polish rising star.
But Bialecki couldn't take his chances either and Price eventually fell over the line to set up a clash with Chris Dobey. Dobey hit a 102 average in seeing off Gyorgy Jehirszki. The highlights being a 167 and 170 checkout from 'Hollywood' who really lived up to his moniker on his World Series return.
He was absent from New York. Michael van Gerwen returned to action in the Big Apple after some time off and he saw off Pero Ljubic in a pretty poor display.
One he was no doubt frustrated with as he then called Ljubic a pub player in the aftermath and said he was lucky to win a leg. In the end it was 6-3 against MVG and he now faces last year's finalist Rob Cross for a spot in the semi-finals against Price or Dobey.

Brutal words about his fellow Tour Card holder but no doubt on his return, he will look to put a few things right and that includes his displays on the oche.
The action resumes on Saturday evening at 6pm BST with the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Final with the champion crowned at the end of play. It goes from best of 11 legs to best of 13 and best of 15 by the end of Saturday. Will Littler retain or will a new name find their way onto the trophy?
