More opportunities announced for Asian Darts Players: PDC Asian Tour expands to 28 tournaments
Jenny Segers/PDC Europe

The PDC has announced a significant expansion of the Asian Tour, with the 2025 season set to feature a total of 28 tournaments. A key change is that the final four events of the season will not only count towards the overall rankings but will also replace the traditional qualifiers for the PDC Asian Championship.

Following a brief summer break, the tour resumes on 5–6 July in Singapore, hosting Events 17 to 20. The circuit then heads to the Philippines on 2–3 August for Events 21 to 24. The season finale takes place in Qingdao, China, from 11 to 14 September, where Events 25 to 28 will be played across four consecutive days, culminating in the PDC Asian Championship itself.

This four-day finale is of crucial importance. These final tournaments replace the previous qualification structure for the Asian Championship and come with an additional prize fund of $20,000. The PDC Asian Championship, scheduled for 13–14 September in Qingdao, will feature a field of 48 players. The spots will be allocated as follows:

  • Qualification through national qualifiers, or the highest-ranked player from each Asian country on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
  • Remaining places will be filled based on the overall Asian Tour Order of Merit.

The winner of the Asian Championship will earn a place at the 2025 Grand Slam of Darts. In addition, both finalists will secure highly coveted spots at the World Darts Championship.

Filipino player Lourence Ilagan, the reigning Asian Champion from 2024, currently leads the Asian Tour Order of Merit. He is closely followed by Hong Kong fan favourite Man Lok Leung and Singaporean veteran Paul Lim. With twelve more Asian Tour events still to be played in the coming months, the competition remains fierce. Notably, the top five players in the final rankings will also qualify for the World Darts Championship in London.
