Nations confirmed for 2025 World Cup of Darts

The PDC has announced the first 34 countries that are set to participate in this year's World Cup of Darts. The final six places will be distributed through several qualifying tournaments worldwide.

The World Cup of Darts 2025 will be held at Frankfurt's Eissporthalle from June 12 to 15, with 40 teams competing for the £80,000 grand prize. Reigning champion England leads the 34 countries whose participation has been confirmed. Three of the six qualifying tournaments take place in Asia, two in Skandinavia and the Baltic States, and finally there is also a qualifying tournament for countries from Latin America and the Caribbean.

India, led by PDC World Darts Championship participant Nitin Kumar, is making its return to the World Cup of Darts. It will be the fourth participation for the country, which last attended in 2023.

Countries with at least two players on the PDC Order of Merit will see their pairings confirmed after Players Championship 16 on Tuesday, May 13. Countries with less than two players on the PDC Order of Merit will see their representatives confirmed after local qualifying tournaments to find one or both participants.

Once again, only pair matches will be played at the World Cup of Darts, with group and knockout stages played over four match days.

The four highest-placed countries, based on the lowest cumulative world ranking of the two participating players, are unranked for the group stage and may start immediately in the second round. The remaining 36 teams are divided into 12 groups of three for group stage. In that group stage, each country in its group competes against the other countries in that group, only the group winner is guaranteed a place in the second round.

England top favourite

The second round, featuring the top 16 countries, will be finished over two sessions on Saturday, June 14. On the final day, the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will then be played. England starts again this year as top favourites to retain the title, with the world's numbers one and two players, Luke Humphries and Luke Littler in their ranks.

The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
