'Officially done with the plumbing game' - Cameron Menzies turns full-time to his darting career

Cameron Menzies is enjoying a superb start to 2025. The 35-year-old Scot has been in consistently strong form, winning a Players Championship earlier this month after also reaching the final of another tournament.

Since earning his PDC Tour Card in 2022, Menzies has been steadily climbing the world rankings. His recent form has been especially impressive—he now sits 36th in the world and looks well on course to qualify for several major tournaments this year.

‘Cammy’, the partner of top women’s player Fallon Sherrock, has long balanced his darts career with a day job as a plumber. He had already scaled back to part-time work, but has now decided to commit fully to professional darts.

Menzies made the announcement on social media: “Officially done with the plumbing game for at least two years,” he posted on X.

This comes as no complete surprise, Menzies previously revealed that he sees his darts performance on the rise. After winning a recent Players Championship event he told the PDC: “I’m leaving my job soon to take up darts full-time. It is genuinely crazy, my darts career is kicking off, it’s my dream. I’m not as good as I’d like to be yet, but I’m heading in the right direction. This means a lot to me because it proves the title I won last year wasn’t by luck."

He’ll be back in action this weekend at the German Darts Grand Prix, where he faces Ryan Searle in the second round on Sunday afternoon in Munich.
