Players Championship 17 Highest Averages | Damon Heta and Gary Anderson lead the way

The seventeenth Players Championship of the year was a triumph for Chris Dobey. The 35-year-old defeated Dirk van Duivenbode 8-7 in the final in Leicester. For Dobey, it is already his second title this year at the Players Championship.

In a high-class final, both men were around 100 average. Van Duijvenbode fought back from a 7-3 deficit, but in the end it was Dobey who took the win with the smallest difference.

Damon Heta recorded the highest average of the day. 'The Heat' was too strong in the quarterfinals for the Dutchman Richard Veenstra 6-2 and achieved an average of 108.94 in that match. Heta eventually lost to Van Duijvenbode in the semifinals with the smallest difference.

The second highest average came in the name of Gary Anderson. However, it did not provide 'The Flying Scotsman' with much. After all, Anderson lost 6-2 to Justin Hood in the opening round, averaging 105.14.

The top three is completed by Mike De Decker. 'The Real Deal' achieved an average of 105.11 at the last 32, but nevertheless went down 6-4 against Scot Darren Beveridge.

The Players Championship continues today with the eighteenth tournament of the year, which will once again be held at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.
